A question about whether certain practices can feed neurotic patterns and become destabilizing, and how to discern what is actually happening.
This could be coming from the neurosis of believing that you are something that you're not. If you're trying to fix something in your experience through a certain activity, through controlling or manipulating a circumstance, it could actually be feeding that part of you. It can give energy to something that is probably already difficult for you, something you're learning not to navigate and manage as a part of yourself. You give it energy and it can get out of control.
The question of what is really happening
But I'm not sure which of those two possibilities it is: whether you've opened up something, or whether you've been feeding it.
