Effortless Appearing

Aparecer sin esfuerzo

A gentle invitation to notice that everything in your experience—including struggle, resistance, and effort itself—is already appearing on its own.

Effortless Appearing

Eyes open or closed,
comfortable position.

Effort has no effect

Effort has no effect.
We want to see what is.
So if it already is, we can't make it happen.
The looking is effortless.
It's already happening.

The sound of my voice appears effortlessly.
Thoughts appear effortlessly.
Pain appears effortlessly.
If your eyes are open, what you see appears effortlessly.

Any experience of struggle or resistance appears effortlessly.
Any sense of something missing or something wrong,
something that should be different, is appearing effortlessly.

Any sense of something good, pleasant, beautiful is appearing effortlessly,
and any desiring and frustration of that desire is appearing effortlessly.

Noticing this over and over again.
Nothing to hold on to,
nowhere to identify with.

Anything we do, even when active, striving, efforting,
that is appearing effortlessly.

You might experience the sense of an "I," a subject that is experiencing,
some strain or struggle trying to see the effortlessness,
but that as well is appearing effortlessly.

Staying with what is most annoying

If there's something you're struggling with now in the form of restlessness or active mind,
discomfort,
just pick the most annoying thing that's happening.

Stay with that one thing,
the most frustrating, annoying thing you can find right now in your experience.
That one thing: if only that was different, this would be great.

Could be thoughts,
could be sensations,
anything.
Emotions.

Keep coming back to the awareness of that.
If you can't decide on anything and you feel restless picking something,
pick that restlessness, the indecision.

Notice any narratives around it.
Is this familiar?

If it activates and gets worse, that's a good thing.
If it's not, that's fine as well.
If it changes and something else becomes more annoying, choose the new thing.

Just stay with this.
It doesn't need a strong focus.
If it's the most annoying thing, it's going to be present in the foreground.

It will be pulling your attention,
and then your mind's going to be pulling you away,
looping into discomfort, frustration, distraction.
Discomfort, frustration, distraction.

Sinking into the body

If emotions come, make room.
Lean towards the sensations, the emotions.
Pay less attention to the narrative, the thoughts, the stories.

Let yourself sink into the body,
just sinking into a mix of spaciousness and any discomfort.
Have the sensations be your anchor,
pulling you down, out and away from your mind.

Effortlessness within struggle

Keep noticing all of this is happening effortlessly.
You struggle with that and it feels like there's definitely effort,
definitely there is struggle.
Notice how that struggle is happening effortlessly.
It is appearing effortlessly.
It is being experienced effortlessly,
in the same exact way as my voice is appearing effortlessly.

If your experience is quiet and calm, that is appearing effortlessly.
If it's similar to being in Times Square with noise and madness,
it is exactly the same, appearing effortlessly.

Allow the flow of this process.
If things change, things move, emotions, sensations, just allow it.

Any sense that you're getting somewhere, notice that it's appearing effortlessly.
There's nowhere to get to.
Any sense of moving towards something better or something worse is appearing effortlessly.

What already is

The only thing that can happen is the noticing, more and more clearly, what already is.
The beingness that we are, already.
The aliveness that is here already.
The love that is in us already.

We cannot attain, we cannot achieve this.
This unconditional effortlessness is the essence of our being.
It is untouched by effort.
It is untouched by struggle.
It is the true marker of now, of what is called the present moment.

In battle, this is present.
You could say hell is inside of heaven, embraced by it.
You cannot get from hell to heaven.
You can just see you are already inside of it.
And hell will vanish like a dream.

Wake up.
It's a choice.
And take as long as you want.
That is freedom.

All effort inside effortlessness

All effort happens inside of effortlessness.
All resistance happens inside of absolute acceptance.
All "no" to the moment happens inside absolute yes.

If you look, you will see this.
You cannot argue with this.

Look for what is more real,
what is more true,
what resonates with the heart,
what resonates with freedom.

And if there's a struggle with this, stick to it.
Stick to the struggle.
Stick to the fight.
Just know it's a losing battle.
Fight it joyfully.
Savor every moment.
