A gentle inquiry into what never comes or goes, inviting you to sit with a question that has no answer to find.
Notice what is always here,
and notice that you cannot find it,
as you can only find what comes and goes.
You can also look for what is not here.
The riddle
What is always here?
It doesn't come,
it doesn't go.
It is also what is not here.
This riddle, this koan:
what is simultaneously always here and not here?
It's not the body,
it's not the mind,
it's not sounds,
it's not sensations,
it's not images,
thoughts.
It's not emotions,
feelings,
memories.
What has never changed
You knew this as a child and you know this now.
It has never changed,
it has never left.
It's no time.
There's no space.
It's completely empty
and always full.
You know this long.
It is not far.
It is not hidden.
At most it is hidden in plain sight.
You cannot find it because it's not lost.
You cannot see it because it's not unseen.
Letting the question guide
Let the riddle take you.
Let the question guide you.
Infinite depth,
no beginning,
no ending.
Notice the thoughts,
emotions,
grasping, trying to hold on.
What is always here
and not here at the same time.
There's a loving that can be scary.
Peaceful,
beautiful.
Cannot be lost,
cannot be found.
It's everywhere and nowhere.
