What do you mean when you say that if it's towards fear, that's the way?
I say "more likely" because, yes, it would be scary to walk in front of traffic. But if it's clearly what the universe wants through me, I don't think it's going to be to walk in front of traffic. When what I really want is something deeper, that's different. I'll give you an example from my own life: ending my work contract to go into a master's degree. That was absolutely terrifying.
