This meditation invites you to stop struggling for what feels missing and instead let reality come closer by honestly meeting your dissatisfaction.
There is always a doorway,
and it's always without a key.
This doorway is how to get to what we want.
What we truly want is always available.
Intimacy, mystery, the unknown:
that is the nature of reality,
that is the nature of what we are,
and it's always what is.
The door is just in front of us, inside of us.
It's the most obvious thing.
The struggle that veils it
The struggle is the only way to cover this,
to veil it.
It takes the form of, "I want something that's not here.
What I need is not available now."
So there is a war within us,
a struggle,
a battle.
The attachment,
the clinging to the sense that
I need something that is not here.
Opening the door
So to open this door,
which is not an action, it's not a doing,
it's a seeing.
In fact, this is not doing something.
It's not so much a leap or a jump into the unknown.
It is a letting go.
And just know that it is a choice, right now.
As you feel compelled and pulled towards
the need of something being different,
notice that.
Let the reality of what is come closer.
Let it be as it is.
Let the radiance of presence come to you.
It is not something you do.
Just let it come.
Reality.
Presence, love,
always pushing towards you,
overwhelming us with vast mystery and beauty.
It's in everything
It's in everything.
It's in thoughts as well.
It's in memories,
fantasies, desires,
frustrations.
The darkness cannot hide.
You can recognize its signature:
aliveness,
movement,
constant motion.
The sense of someone there in the middle,
in danger,
is an illusion.
It's just more thoughts.
Let the movement be movement
of sounds, textures of sensation,
the images of thoughts.
Dissatisfaction as teacher
Where is the teacher?
What is the teacher?
It is any sense of dissatisfaction.
Let there be total honesty in your experience.
Let yourself see and know all the ways in which things are not okay.
Follow this to the core,
to know its source fully.
That is our guide, our teacher.
Touch the dissatisfaction,
whatever is missing or not okay.
What is its texture?
What are the images?
Go into the story.
Look at what the story is made of.
Images, sounds, emotions.
Don't push anything away.
Let it all come.
Complete transparency and honesty, internally.
