A meditation on letting life's tensions and contradictions stay unresolved, allowing them to open you rather than rushing to find an answer.
Meditation is like just being paradoxical.
We need to digest. We need to ingest.
Noticing the tendency to resolve
So just notice the tendency to resolve.
Resolving a paradox is choosing:
choosing an answer,
choosing a side.
Whatever is affecting you,
at the heart of it there is a paradox.
Whatever you struggle with,
at the heart of it there's a paradox.
Meditation is to not resolve,
and just ingest and digest.
Something new will grow out of that.
Letting the paradox come up
So just like that, the paradox
of your reality, your situation,
your questions,
your struggles, let that all come up now.
There might be a burning,
a restlessness,
and also possibly a sweetness.
Let the struggle be the food and nutrition.
Let it not resolve.
Let it pierce and open you up.
Being pierced at every level
The level of heart,
the level of mind,
the level of sensations,
the level of the sense of self,
the sense of meaning.
Let it all be pierced
by your own paradox,
the freedom from resolution.
It's freedom from your own becoming.
It's all happening now.
The heart of your life,
with its deepest meaning,
the deepest value,
the deepest paradox.
