The Flavor of Something Missing

El Sabor de Algo que Falta

A gentle exploration of the feeling that something is missing, inviting you to examine it closely and discover what lies beneath it.

The Flavor of Something Missing

Noticing anticipation

Is there any sense of anticipation,
or of grasping for experience?

And if it appears,
don't react to it,
don't try to stop it or suppress it.
Just recognize and taste it.

It's the flavor of something missing,
the flavor of something just not quite right,
the flavor of a bunch of thoughts describing how things should be.

Playing with what's present

And play with this:
if you're not at any moment fully content,
then this sense of something missing is present.
So it's always close for tasting.

How does it move?
How does it appear and disappear?
What is it made of?

Images, sensations.
There's a shift from longing in the belly, or an aching of the heart.
Restlessness.
And thought.

Questioning what's real

What if, at the heart of it,
the poverty is not real?

What if sublime okayness is
available and possible right now?

What illusions would have to fall?
What attachments would have to drop?

Tasting the seeking itself

You're looking for something.
The looking motivates the seeking.

Taste that, savor that.
What is it made of?
