What Pulls You

Lo que te atrae

A gentle invitation to notice what naturally draws your attention and to discover the quiet awareness behind all experience.

What Pulls You

Contemplate what is interesting to you right now.
Don't think about it.
It's a non-conceptual contemplation.

What gets your attention?
What pulls you?
Don't try to direct it or control it.
Just try to see what it is that pulls you.

Noticing what draws you

Just notice your experience.
Is it sensations?
Is it sounds?
Or is it thoughts?

What is pulling your attention?
What draws your interest, your curiosity?

And if something pulls you, let it pull.
Let it take you where it takes you and notice it.
Notice where it's taking you.
Don't fight it.
There's nowhere you can go that is the wrong place.

The texture of experience

Is it images?
Is it images of what's coming through the eyes, or is it imagination?
Is it time?
Is it emotions?

Is there a lot of self-reflection, thinking about yourself,
or is there openness and reception, receptivity of what's happening?

If it's thoughts, notice what aspect of thinking.
Is it familiar?
Is it different?
Is it new?

Just really let it take you where it's going.
Just remain aware of where it's taking you.
Remain noticing.
Let go of the sense that you can control things.

What the noticing is

When you notice the sensations or sounds,
colors and thoughts,
emotions,
if there's any inner dialogue or images of thought,
past, future, of now,
any aim, narrative, reflection on what's happening,
all of that which you could describe is being noticed.

And the noticing is silent.
It's just this intimate knowing,
intimate tasting.

It's so simple.
It does not come. It does not go.

What knows

Anything you know about you,
anything you feel or think or remember or experience,
is known in the same way.

The person you know too, with past and future,
body and mind.
That is all known, experienced.

What is it that knows?
This silent receptivity.

Knows the seagull, knows the skin,
knows the sounds,
thoughts, emotions, stories, past, future.

The universe of everything that is happening
moves right through you,
all of it.
