A meditation on ending the search for what isn't missing by noticing the difference between thought and direct experience as it flows.
We're here to find, to end the search.
And it's full of paradoxes.
We find that there is nothing ever lost.
That everything that is happening right now,
all of the vastness of experience,
the infinite complexity of the mind,
of the world of sensation and perception,
it is all perfect as it is right now.
There's an illusion that something is missing.
Two ways to seek
There are two ways to seek.
One is infinite failure,
and the other one is satisfaction.
Seeking in thought,
seeking in the world of mind, is never ending.
Mind creates time.
We seek in time.
A different experience, a different situation.
Thought and not thought
So first notice what is thought,
what is not thought.
There is this sort of space of sensation and perception:
colors, sounds, textures.
And the rest is thought,
the understanding of forms,
the mapping of worlds, people, things.
At the center of that map is me,
an entity,
a person,
limited within the world.
That is all mind.
Sensation without a subject
Can there be sensation and perception without the subject?
Just the intimacy of what is appearing.
The subject coming and going,
thoughts of you coming and going,
no essential reality to it.
Just appearances coming and going.
Everything is moving
Notice that everything is moving.
Absolutely nothing remains still.
Some forms move fast,
some forms move slow.
Notice the subject.
Possibly a glimmering or a vibration
of thoughts establishing a position.
Anchored in sensations,
but yet coming and going,
not continuous.
Letting it flow
Everything is flowing, so let it flow.
No need to hold on to anything.
There is a natural curiosity that leads us to truth.
Trust it.
The truth you're seeking is here.
The freedom you're seeking is here.
The peace you're seeking is here.
There is a veil of beliefs that obscures this.
Looking anywhere other than here is endless dissatisfaction.
