Clouds in the Sky

Nubes en el Cielo

Meet thoughts, sensations, and discomforts like passing clouds, resting as the open sky that lets everything move through without resistance.

Clouds in the Sky

Just notice in your experience right now any sense of friction or discomfort,
any familiar sense of uneasiness or restlessness.

If we imagine when we go for a walk,
we don't notice the clouds,
but you can bring your attention to the sky and notice they are always there on a cloudy day.
Just coming and going.

Observing thoughts

And with a bit of experience in meditation,
you'll be familiar with observing thoughts,
the mind activity,
the inner dialogue,
memories.

Just as the clouds, make the thoughts known.
No need to change anything.
There is nothing wrong with a single thought.

Turning to sensation

We can now forget about thoughts and let them be,
bring the most subtle attention
to the experience of friction,
discomfort,
any sense of something that should be different.

A deep dive into your sensations,
into your deep experience of this moment,
the most subtle, profound attention into the depth
of the ocean,
of your vast experience.

Make known to yourself any sense of struggle,
any restlessness.

And as the clouds, let it all be.
Nothing to change,
just make this all known.
Make this all clear,
direct knowing,
intimate.

Let this intimacy take you in deeper,
as if sinking into an infinite ocean.

Nothing unmet,
all discomforts, all tensions in the body or unwanted thoughts,
seen, tasted, savoured.

And when everything that is unwanted has been met and seen,
what remains.

The sky and the clouds

Notice the pull,
the temptation to focus on thoughts or sensations, discomforts.
Instead, bring a wide attention,
as if you are the sky looking at the clouds.

Desire for something to change,
just another cloud.
Clouds shaped with forms of tensions,
worries.
No need to change.
The sky accepts all clouds.

And if something is rejected,
do not try to accept it.
Just recognize the cloud of rejection,
taste all its forms and shapes.

Something appears as a worry or pain.
Don't try to change it.
Don't try to accept it.
Just notice its textures,
the shape,
the flavors.

In this wave of present experience,
everything that is ever happening can be tasted,
savored, explored.
For no reason,
no agenda,
no purpose,
just being.

Divine creation

As we witness a landscape,
trees,
mountains,
the sky,
we may project the sense of beauty,
divine creation.

What is the difference with this moment?
All thoughts, all sensations,
all experience of human struggle,
joys, frustrations, pains.
All this divine creation,
miraculous,
infinite.

As you become intimate and open with everything you're accustomed to rejecting,
you will recognize it is always changing on its own.
Everything is dancing,
moving,
divine creation.

The more you let things be as they are,
the faster they change.
Endless river of experience.
Just like the clouds in the sky,
the waves on an ocean,
constant movement.

Looking closely

And if it seems like something is still,
take a closer look.
If your hands are still,
look closely at those sensations.

All you know of your hands right now is moving like the clouds,
the tingling sensations, changing, shifting,
the thoughts of the hands moving,
images shifting,
changing,
all of your skin,
all of your feelings,
all of your emotions,
all of your perceptions,
sounds, colors,
sight.

Infinite ocean,
constant movement.

Opening

And as you recognize this,
you may notice the heart opens, relaxes,
a deeper freedom might be tasted.
Spaciousness and the silence.

The true nature of the sky,
just present,
unaffected, welcoming,
embracing.

The freedom to enjoy all experience,
to celebrate experiencing itself.

And remember,
whenever you find yourself pushing,
struggling something in your experience,
when that habit reappears,
you can just taste it, savor it.

That's the sky that knows all clouds,
and just let it change and move on its own.
No need to push the river.

And slowly, nothing changes and everything changes.
