Trust in What Is Already Free

Confía en lo que ya es libre

An invitation to notice the freedom already present in your experience and to trust that nothing needs to change for it to be here.

Trust in What Is Already Free

The process is a process of trust,
an easier word than faith.
Because faith points to historic beliefs,
but true faith is what I'm talking about.

We can talk about trust,
and if we invite trust,
what that means is that what I am, where I am,
what is happening is perfectly okay as it is.

And this invites us, or challenges us as well, to go deeper,
because we can only trust truly from a deeper place.
In our minds, there will always be some problems with ourselves,
with our life, with the world,
and a lot of them real and important,
but a lot of them are not.

Trusting in reality

To trust in reality,
in the mystery,
in ourselves,
and those three words are synonyms of the same thing.
We are what is real,
and what is real is mysterious,
and that which we are needs nothing.

So look in your experience right now, what is happening.
Notice the intentions, if any,
to get something, to do something, to change something.

And as an invitation,
trust.
Trust that nothing is needed.

There is something here already which is free.
Your freedom is already here.

The mind trying to grasp

The mind will try to grasp it,
understand it,
and also avoid it.
It will only accept it if it can grasp it,
understand it, and control it.
And by definition, the freedom that we are is beyond that,
cannot be touched by the mind.

Trying to grasp and understand this freedom
is like a wave trying to grab the ocean.

Trust is already present

This trust is natural.
It is already present,
already open,
embracing.
You don't need to develop it, grow it.

It has many flavors.
It can have a very soft and subtle quality
of loving life,
loving this,
loving now.

A lovingness that includes the struggle,
the mental turmoil.
It's not just okay with the struggle.
It is also in love with that,
because it's fully in love with life,
fully in love with being human.

It has been chosen fully
at the deepest level of divinity and creation.
This has been chosen fully.
Every single aspect of it exploding
with a gentle love for everything.

And that love of everything is our nature,
and it's not individual.
It's not my love of everything and your love of everything.
It is the creation loving itself.

Choosing to forget the creator
and go into fear and struggle
for the love of that journey.
The wonder of being human,
but it is never only human.
Stillness is always the creation loving itself.

Noticing what resonates

The trust,
if any of what I pointed to resonates,
if you have experienced any form of yes, or tingling,
the trust is in that.
Something beyond the words is true,
beyond concepts.

Noticing thoughts,
the mind trying to understand and get somewhere.
What is it that notices the thoughts?

Turning toward friction

The chronic friction you might be experiencing,
anything you might feel is not okay,
be it emotional, physical, mental, something about your life.
Don't evoke it, just notice if anything is present right now.

And that which experiences the friction,
the issues, the challenges:
is that which is experiencing friction also in friction?
That which is experiencing discomfort, if any,
is it also in discomfort?

If we can become aware of discomfort,
that which is aware of discomfort cannot be in discomfort.

Which one are you?
Are you that which is in discomfort?
Are you that which discomfort is an inner part of?
Or are you just where discomfort appears,
fully free from it?

A subtle difference

It's a subtle difference.
All discomfort, friction becomes amplified
when we believe what we are is in discomfort,
what we are is in friction.
And so then we try to change what can be discomfort or friction, resistance.
It's just the body or the mind.

When we see that what we are does not depend on the body or the mind,
that is transferred, given to the body and the mind,
for the body and the mind to be fully what they are.

To be fully in stress,
to be fully in rest,
to be fully in discomfort, emotional turmoil, or peace,
free from the struggle to be something other than what it is.

No need to control,
because nothing will be gained or lost by controlling.
What we want is that freedom.
