A gentle invitation to notice that what you are searching for is not missing but simply overlooked, already present in this moment.
There are some directives, some pointers, that are simple
and can take you all the way.
All the way to what you can call an incomprehensible satisfaction,
a release, a fulfillment.
A single pointer
One such pointer is: what you're looking for is already here.
It has no conditions.
You don't need to be free of thought, nor free of pain.
It only needs to be realized to be true, recognized.
It's pointed to as presence,
consciousness,
aliveness,
beingness,
emptiness,
I-amness.
The closer you get, the harder it is to communicate,
to describe,
to point to,
as it's prior to language,
prior to thoughts.
It can be said that it is what we are,
what everything is.
What veils this
Something appears to veil this, to distract from this.
This distraction, this veiling, is believing assumptions.
Very young, we started thinking about ourselves,
creating an image,
a character.
And this fascination, this obsession with this character
creates a sense that something is missing, not here,
that what I need, what I'm looking for, is not here.
It's so simple. What we're looking for is here,
veiled only by the belief that it's not.
Sinking into what is here
Let's sink into the radiance,
the pristine clarity of experience.
Skin sensations,
sounds,
images,
even all thoughts.
Infinite radiance.
At every moment, the choice:
either something is wrong,
something is missing,
something needs to be different,
and we search in thought.
Or we look at what is here,
what is real,
deeper,
more intimacy with this.
What if what I'm looking for is here?
