I have a question about the instruction to move slowly between meditation and dialogue.
It's an interesting question. When there's a change in form, say moving from a moment categorized as meditation toward something categorized as dialogue, we tend to go into thought very quickly. There's a tendency to shift into a different kind of mindset, to have experience collapse into a thought form, a thought paradigm.
The value of moving slowly
Moving slowly helps here. There is no movement, in a sense. But the slow shift toward recognizing that the form is changing can be more helpful in preserving that openness, rather than abruptly shifting into thinking. I sometimes say "gently," which points to something similar.
