What Is Happening

Lo Que Está Sucediendo

A gentle invitation to simply notice what is happening right now, without trying to change or fix any of it.

What Is Happening

You can keep your eyes open if you'd like, there's no need to close them.

When we don't have a lot of meditation experience, closing our eyes helps focus,
but ultimately there's no need to focus.
It's just about noticing what's happening.

Eyes open, eyes closed

Eyes are open.
What's happening is eyes are open.
There's sight.

Eyes are closed.
There's still colors and shapes through the eyelids,
and sounds,
and sensations.

Noticing sneaky intentions

Notice the sneaky intentions you might have right now,
especially in the format of meditation.

You might notice the intention to have an experience,
or change the state you're in,
to battle with thoughts or change the thought space.

And while there is a time and a place and a value and usefulness to that,
it's not as deep as just noticing what is.

Just noticing what is

Just by noticing what is,
what's happening,
what's happening with thoughts, what's happening with sensations,
all the levels of thought, all the kinds of thinking.

Thinking in language and inner dialogue.
Thinking in time,
remembering,
planning,
anticipating,
thinking with images.
A movie with the character of me at the center.

None of this is good or bad or should be happening or shouldn't be happening.
It's just what is happening.

Freedom from the need to change it

The invitation is towards this moment exactly as it is,
with the freedom from having to change it.
Freedom from the need to change it.

What if what you've always wanted,
whatever has happened,
is to be free from the need of it being any particular way?

Letting it all move

If there's discomfort,
restless thoughts,
unpleasant sensations,
just let all of that move.

Let it be as it is and notice how it moves.
Nothing remains still.
The stillness is not in that which appears.

Savoring the appearance

Sink into the sensations,
savor the sounds and thoughts,
the images,
the complexity of the appearance.

Can you taste the thoughts?
Can you appreciate the images,
just like a bird flying in the sky?
