Trust and Paradox

Confianza y Paradoja

An invitation to notice the difference between the contraction of trusting your thoughts and the ease of trusting a deeper knowing that holds everything, even paradox.

Trust and Paradox

The mind dislikes paradoxes,
what appears as contradictory.

How can there be pain and suffering in the world and in ourselves,
and everything be absolutely fine and okay, simultaneously?

The mind will activate and struggle over paradoxes,
but beingness, what we truly are, will understand.

Being open to paradox

Notice and be open and receptive to this.
What in your struggle, in your life, in your daily suffering is of this nature?

And let the deeper understanding just emerge,
arise and speak to you, speak from you.
Let it bubble up.

Trust that there is a deeper knowing,
a deeper understanding that does not require an effort,
just the trusting,
just the allowing.

Trusting mind versus trusting being

If we move towards the mind,
towards belief in narrative and thoughts as real and absolute,
we will notice a sense of contraction and distress,
some sense of control,
and possibly a relief from the illusion, or because of the illusion,
but ultimately, trusting the mind will bring contraction.

Trusting being, mystery, self, whatever word resonates,
that which can resonate with you as freedom, love, truth, heart,
and expansion,
of ease, of peace,
well-being, aliveness, even if at times
it's scary:
the loss of illusion,
the loss of illusory control,
the loss of illusory sense of self.

Following the breadcrumbs

So these can be your breadcrumbs in this meditation.
Always, just simply, gently: what expands trust and ease?
Indeed, a sense of no problem.
Everything being well in spite of everything that is happening.

Let this speak to you,
this within you,
this as you,
you as the universe,
the universe through you.

Sensation, sound, aliveness

A sense of the skin,
the breath,
palpitations of sensations,
the tinglings in your flesh and your feet and your hands,
the sounds
moving through everywhere and nowhere.

The colors and forms and shapes,
the feelings and thoughts,
all of that moving, appearing, arising in this trust,
permeated by the delightfulness,
savoring of what appears,
the magic of sensation, insight,
the mystery of it all,
the beauty of it all.

All of what I'm describing is the nature of beingness: natural, effortless,
exquisitely intimate.

Mind and paradox

If for the mind itself, if we look at it right now through the mind interpreting our thought,
it is full of contradiction,
paradox,
strange tensions.

Notice that difference.
It's right here in your hands.
Up to you.

Returning to the whole

If you find yourself tempted, seduced, captured
by the world of thoughts and narrative,
notice its flavor.
No need to rush out of it.
Nothing is wrong when that's happening.
Just taste it.
Notice the contraction.
Restlessness.

And then favor the space of sensations, sounds,
the universe of all that you are,
which contains the thoughts and the mind.
